The Space

With stunning interiors throughout, Rock End promises a stay to remember. Nestled in the charming county town of Matlock, Derbyshire, this striking dog-friendly holiday home is perfect for a relaxing getaway.

Step inside to a bright and spacious open-plan living and dining area, designed for comfort. Sink into one of the two cosy sofas or the inviting armchair, the perfect spot to unwind after a day of exploring.

The stylish kitchen is fully equipped with everything you need to prepare delicious home-cooked meals. You’ll find a fridge, freezer, oven, hob, and dishwasher, along with all the essential utensils, pots, pans, cutlery, and glassware. For a leisurely morning, stroll to the local coffee shop and enjoy your breakfast in the charming patio area just outside the kitchen.

At the front of the property, you’ll discover an inviting outdoor space with seating and a table—perfect for enjoying your morning coffee. Hot and cold outdoor taps make it easy to rinse off muddy paws after countryside adventures.

This beautiful family-friendly period property boasts three stylish bedrooms, comfortably accommodating five to six guests:

Master bedroom – A king-size bed with breathtaking views of Riber Castle from the stunning bay window.
Second bedroom – A double bed, ideal for a restful night’s sleep.
Third bedroom – A small double bed, offering a cosy retreat.

For entertainment, enjoy Smart TVs in the living area, kitchen, and master bedroom, complete with access to streaming apps like BBC iPlayer—perfect for a relaxed night in.

The luxurious family bathroom is designed for indulgence, featuring a freestanding bathtub with a handheld shower, a large walk-in shower, a wash basin, and a WC, with fresh white towels provided as standard. Additionally, the master bedroom benefits from an ensuite shower room for added convenience.

Guest Access

Guests have access to the entire property. Keys are securely stored in a key safe box, with full details provided before check-in.

Private on-site parking is available for one vehicle at the rear of Rock End, with free on-street parking nearby.

A maximum of two well-behaved dogs are welcome per reservation.

Photos of the inside of this do not do it justice, it’s spacious and perfect for socialising with friends. The outdoor area is small but being December / January we didn’t use it much anyway. It is about a 25 minute walk to the town and main restaurants which is up/down a long hill. Overall a lovely stay that we wouldn’t hesitate to stay again and recommend to friends.

We had an absolutely fantastic stay at this Airbnb! The house was impeccably clean, beautifully decorated, and had everything we needed for a comfortable and relaxing getaway. The hosts were excellent communicators, always clear and friendly, making the whole process smooth and easy. One thing to mention (and a bit of a workout bonus!)—the hill up from Matlock town center is definitely a climb. Let’s just say you’ll have burnt off your dinner before you reach the house after walking back from town. Overall, this was a five-star stay!

House was beautiful, tastefully decorated and well equipped kitchen. Gorgeous views and beds were comfortable apart from the smallest double room which needs a new mattress. There isn't a lot of outside space but we didn't mind at this time of year. With children and a dog, wouldn't suit us in the warmer months. There is parking for 1 car round the back of the property which is tricky to maneuver in and out but we managed it. We would recommend the Sunday roasts at the Thorn Tree in Matlock and the staff were lovely.
